About Us
Protecting places to live and work
In April 2018, English local authorities sought a method to leverage new civil enforcement powers to address littering from vehicles. Manually detecting offenses proved challenging for CCTV operators. LitterCam was founded in an attempt to help local authorities, by developing and using AI technologies to automatically detect offences from CCTV video streams.
The London Boroughs of Havering & Redbridge deployed early trials, excitingly followed by international pilots commissioned by the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence & the Rijkswaterstaat, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands. Seeking COPLAR compliance and operational efficiency, Transport Scotland and Westminster City Council contracted early pilots of LitterCam's roadside litter grading service, providing them with litter count and geo-spatial data.
LitterCam's flexible approach to vehicle littering enforcement and roadside litter assessments provide foundational tools to public sector and highway sector clients committed to local environmental quality improvement. Our mission is to help local government and highways operators tackle vehicle-based-littering.
We understand that environmental enforcement has only worked for pedestrian offences in busy, urban areas and solution requirements are complicated. To move beyond this, we are equipping our clients with managed service offerings that are usable, scalable and affordable.
